A stop-motion animation short film, telling the story of the future Leader of the Organization failing to form a band based on height.

Description of the film from YouTube: A stop motion animation short film that was created in a 10 week time span as a senior capstone project from a complete novice.
This film is meant to be slightly humorous, with a tad of dark humor and is NOT social commentary of any sort whatsoever.
Watch Minax attempt to form a band. After explaining the height criteria for the members of the band, Minax holds an audition. While Nye is technically too short to join the band, his footwear makes up for it. T, being the right height and able to play an instrument, is a shoe-in. Oran, while being the right height, doesn't know if he plays an instrument or not. Rain is far too tall for the band, everyone laughs at his suggestion that he squats. He doesn't make the cut. The band members are introduced. Minax laughs. T scratches his head. Oran listens to music. Nye walks into the mens bathroom, as he is male. Nye and Minax meet up to discuss plans for the band, but no one else shows up. Nye witnesses Rain stab T, presumably out of jealousy. Minax wakes up from his nightmare in a daze, at the realization he is actually afraid of his death. The next day, when actually attending the meeting to discuss the band, things go oddly similar to Minax's nightmare. Nye and Minax meet alone while T and Rain also meet up, but they only meet up to discuss comics, which Rain is unfamiliar with. While T offers to show Rain what they are, Oran can be found listening to music without a concern for making the meeting. He probably forgot when the meeting was! Minax attempts to hit on Nye with no success. Nye excuses himself in the same manner as he did in Minax's dream, which scares Minax. Unable to tell dream from reality, Minax is convinced that he is next and Rain will kill him out of anger for not making it into the band. Minax calls his father, who is in the same building, and asks if he can be picked up. All the while, the potential band members only met up to laugh at comics together in the bathroom, like guys do.

Commentary

This film was made a project for college. I actually got reimbursed for the materials and presented it to a group of people. I had the thought of doing something with stop-motion animation a few months prior to making it and figured school would be a great excuse to actually do something with it. I listened to Baby V.O.X. a lot while planning the script, so I wanted to make it about a band.

Some production notes: I sampled different girls from the 48groups for the voices. I edited their voices and picked random parts of the files for the talking parts. This was released before Schlo: Final Stand, so I picked out music from the first two schlo games to put in the video. The puppets have face masks, so I didn't have to animate their mouths. Nye's outfit is inspired by Shindo Shuichi.

This was pretty fun to make. There were a lot of issues with keeping the puppets in one piece. Their heads would fall off all the time and the clay would crack a lot. I don't remember standing over the studio and taking the pictures to be that fun either. I had pretty limited resources, so it's not like it turned out how I originally imagined it, anyways. It's cute and "weird" and stuff. If you would like to learn more about Lowers, check out their interview in the Schlo Memorial Book.
